A garden for Nosiphiwo

Nosiphiwo Masekwana is a 42 year old Xhosa lady and mother of 5 children. She single-handedly supports her three children now aged 18, 14 and 2. Her current employer is moving abroad and Nosiphiwo would love to start her own vegetable market from her home in Khayelitsha and to become an entrepreneur in her own right.

She has a small garden which we are transforming into an food and income generating space for her and her children.

We have a ‘garden work party’ scheduled for Monday, the 3rd of September. Come join us if you like.

Khayelitsha is a partially informal township in Western Cape, South Africa, located on the Cape Flats in the City of Cape Town. The name is Xhosa for Our New Home. It is reputed to be the largest and fastest growing township in South Africa.
